STEPS TO BECOMING A FLORIDA REAL ESTATE LICENSEE

STEP 1

Instructor teaching live real estate class

Take and pass a 63 Hour Florida state certified Real Estate Course with a licensed real estate school. Your course will require you to pass a 100 question exam at the end to gain a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is required to take the Florida State Sales Associate exam. Your certificate will be good for two years from completion.

STEP 2

Women applying for a Florida Real Estate license

Register and complete an application with the Florida Department of Business and Regulation (DBPR) at MYFLORIDALICENSE.COM , which will include having your fingerprints done. You must pass a Level 2 background check and have application approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). Moulder’s School of Real Estate will help you with this the first day of class.

STEP 3

Man taking a Florida real estate exam

Pass a 100 question state license exam with at least a 75%. The state license exam can be taken at any PearsonVue center. You may take the exam as many times as it takes until you pass but must pay the required fee each time. We highly recommend taking the exam soon after gaining your class certificate.

STEP 4

Women receiving her Florida real estate license

Once you pass your state exam, within a few days you will be emailed your initial Sales Associate License. To sell real estate to the general public or perform any real estate services, you must register with a Licensed Florida Broker.

STEP 5

Women shaking hands with her new broker

To sell real estate to the general public or perform any real estate services, you must register with a Licensed Florida Broker.

πŸ‘‰Pro Tip for Students:‍ ‍

We highly recommend submitting your DBPR application and fingerprints before or during your first week of real estate school. State background checks can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks to process, and you cannot schedule your final state exam until the DBPR approves your file.
